Among
Friends Quilt Shop, established in 2003, is owned by Wendy and Scott
Vetter. Although the shop has only been opened since November of 2003,
it |
currently is
the home to over 5,000 bolts of quality cotton quilting fabrics, as
well as a large selection of books, patterns, notions and tools.

April 18:
Spring Mid-Term Class
Review
We are nearly halfway through the Spring Trimester, but there
are still a lot of great classes available with openings. On
Saturday, April 18, from 10:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30
p.m. to 3:00 p.m. we will be conducting a mid-term class
review for the Spring Trimester.
Instructors
will be on hand for the 10:30 a.m. to noon session, which will
be between Super Saturday meetings. This will be another
opportunity to see the class projects all together again and
to meet with the instructors for questions. It also is another
opportunity to save 10% on the class fee if you register for a
class on that day.

May 11:
Class Reunion
Our next class reunion is scheduled for Monday, May 11
at 6:30 p.m. Diane Spahr will be our featured Instructor. If
you have ever taken a class from Diane and would like an
opportunity to meet with your fellow classmates to show off
your finished projects and to see theirs, here is your chance.
We are having a class reunion party to celebrate your
accomplishments complete with refreshments, games and prizes
to be topped off with Show and Tell by students. We will
provide the refreshments and you will provide the show and
tell. Don't miss the fun. Register today. Cost is $10.

May 29: Among Friends
Annual Auction
It is back once again - the annual Among Friends Auction, which
will be held on Friday evening, May 29 at 7:00 p.m. Beginning May
1, you will have an opportunity to earn auction bucks to spend at
the auction (auction bucks can be used for the silent auction
only). For every dollar you spend at Among Friends Quilt Shop
between May 1 and May 28, 2009, you will earn an auction buck, or
on Friday, May 29 you can purchase auction bucks to use. If you
are planning to attend the auction, please make sure that you ask
for your auction bucks when you check out as they will only be
available at the time of purchase.
Items to be auctioned will include quilt books, patterns, gift
items, some quilt tops and samples, as well as other items. There
will be a live auction in addition to the silent auction. While
the silent auction requires Auction Bucks, the live auction will
require real money - cash, check or a credit card. New this year -
live auction items will be on display by May 8. To attend the
Among Friends Auction, you need to purchase a $5 ticket while they
last. Tickets will go on sale May 1. Join us for the auction and
hear the words, "Going once, going twice, sold to the lucky
quilter;" maybe that will be you!

May 2:
Derby Hat Sale
Once again we will be celebrating Derby day with a Derby Hat
Sale on Saturday, May 2. Wear your favorite Derby hat to the
shop on Derby day and receive 10% off your purchases
(regular-priced merchandise only, excludes Handi Quilter
machines/packages, gift certificates, fees, special orders and
holds). Stop by, say hi and save.

July 17-18: Jingle
Bell Hop - Make Plans Now
Join us for a little holiday cheer in July. See the new Christmas
fabrics and fun holiday projects at each participating Jingle Bell
Hop Quilt Shop (including AFQS). Kits are available at each shop
and all are priced at $25 or less for Jingle Bell Hop
participants.
Christmas fabrics will also be discounted for Jingle Bell Hoppers
during the event. A special Christmas stocking stuffed with
goodies will be given away at each shop. Also, hoppers that get
their Jingle Bell Hop passport page stamped at all six shops and
turn it in by July 18 will be eligible for extra prizes. Jingle
Bell Hop Directories can be purchased at participating shops May
26 – July 14 for $3 ($5 after July 14).
