Webkinz Club News
Our first official Among Friends Webkinz Club event is going
to be a Webkinz Sewing Party. Club members will play games,
win prizes and make a little quilt for their Webkinz pet.
Space for the party will be limited, so register soon. An
email notice will be sent to club members by mid-May with the
date and time of the party to be held in June or July. A $10
quilt kit purchase is necessary for party attendance. To join
the club, call the shop at 261-7377 (with child’s parent or
guardian’s permission, please). |

New Clubs
2008 Mystery Block of the Month: Among Friends Quilt
Shop is pleased to announce that the fabrics for the 2008
Mystery Block of the Month have been chosen and plans are well
underway for next year’s block of the month.
If you would like to participate in next year’s mystery block
of the month, registration has begun. There is no fee charged
for membership in this club. You will choose a colorway
(Romance or Ice Cream Parlor) at the time of registration and
will pay $18.00 for January’s block. The cost for each block
after that (February-December) is $5. However, if you attend a
Super Saturday meeting during the months of Feb. through Dec.
with your finished block from the previous month, you will
receive the block for the month attended for free. That means
if you attend a meeting each month, you will have 12 block
kits for $18.00. Super Saturday meetings are on the third
Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. and at noon. A third
meeting is held on the Monday immediately following the third
Saturday at 10:00 a.m. You only need attend one. Finishing
kits will be available as a finishing option for your quilt
blocks. More information is available at the shop. Space is
limited, so don’t wait too long to register.
Thimbleberries Quilt Club 2008: The club began in February
2008 and will run through December 2008. The cost to join
Thimbleberries Quilt Club is $20. Membership includes monthly
newsletters from Lynette Jensen with recipes and extra project
instructions, a charm pack of the 2008 quilt club fabrics,
attendance to 11 club meetings and 10% off our regular-priced
Thimbleberries fabrics on bolts during the club year. The
monthly kit price is $26.95 and includes all of the fabrics
for the quilt top and binding.
Club meetings are held on the fourth Saturday of each month
(December’s meeting will not be on the fourth Saturday – Date
TBA later in the year). If you are interested in joining

New Bag Ladies Club: The Bag Lady is back with new and
exciting projects. Each month club members will make a
different purse, tote or bag. You can have a different bag for
each of your favorite outfits or get an early start on
Christmas gifts. Bag Ladies is a 6-month club and registration
is only $10. It began in April and ends in September. The
fee for each month is $28. Class meetings will be on the
second Monday of the month from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The last Bag
Ladies Club filled up quickly, so don’t wait too long to
register. A class discount on supplies will be offered.
Jacket Club Coming: Once again, we have found a wonderful
striking jacket that is sure to make a statement when you wear
it. It is called Autumn Sun and is a bolero length jacket that
showcases beautiful machine piecing techniques. Made with
luscious batik fabrics, you are sure to be noticed and admired
for your style and talent! Choose your own color palette to
make it your own one-of-a-kind jacket. The Jacket Club is a
five-month club that will begin in June with classes on the
third Monday of each month through October. Classes will be
from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. The fee for joining the Jacket Club is
$20 which includes the cost of the pattern. The fee for each
class is $20. A class discount on supplies will be offered.

Fabric Fondlers Anonymous
We are issuing a missing persons bulletin for those of you who
have not yet tried coming to an FFA meeting. You are
definitely missing some QQT (Quality Quilting Time). Join the
rest of us who are fabric obsessed as we sew, sew, sew. Bring
a project to work on and $6 for food. The fellowship and fun
are free! Our next meeting is scheduled for April 4 and May 9
from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. |
