Oregon Wrap Up
May 20, 2008 – 5:12 pmWow! Another Quilt Market has come and gone. It was once again a flurry of activity - both exhausting and exhilerating at the same time. Our days began at 8:00 a.m. and didn’t end until 10:00 p.m. or later. That’s why there were no more posts to the blog after market began. I was just too tired by the end of my day. We attended seminars, saw gorgeous fabrics, ordered new patterns and notions, saw more gorgeous fabrics, ate lunch with Mark Lipinski (Quilter’s Home magazine), Billie Lauder (quilt designer and author) and Becky Goldsmith (Piece ‘O Cake - quilt designer and author), met Amy Butler, Heather Bailey and other designers, saw more gorgeous fabrics, ordered those gorgeous fabrics…I think you have the idea. It was fun and very productive. I especially enjoy getting to meet the fabric designers like Sandy Gervais and Moda’s newest designers, Bonnie Olaveson from Cotton Way and her daughter, Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms. Mother/daughter teams seems to be a trend. Being the mother of 3 daughters, I like that trend. I know I sure do enjoy working with my girls here at the shop. Another interesting point of market was attending a Schoolhouse sessions with Kaffe Fassett. He was not at all like I had imagined. He was older and quieter than I thought he would be. His new line looked good, so I ordered it and it should arrive next month. I have attached a photo of Mr. Fassett. It isn’t very clear as I was not very close when it was taken. Don’t forget, we have a party planned for this Saturday, May 24 from noon to 3:00. I will be making a big announcement a little after noon. I invite you to come share in our big secret that we have had to keep for months. Hope to see you then!
